Idaho-based Cradlepoint has acquired Los Gatos-based Pertino in a deal that combines a pair of software-defined networking companies. Terms of the deal weren't announced, but Pertino, led by CEO Craig Elliott, had raised nearly $30 million in the four years since it was founded. Its investors include Icon Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Wing Venture Capital.
Cradlepoint said the deal helps it to quickly address the emerging opportunity for software-defined enterprise network solutions and services.
“I’m very excited about the acquisition of Pertino by Cradlepoint," Craig Elliott, Pertino CEO, said in a press release. "Together, we’re bringing the benefits of SDN and cloud networking to 4G LTE connectivity for enterprises, (small to mid-sized enterprises) and carriers worldwide, creating a new category of software-defined 4G LTE networks in the process."
