Technology upgrades for Boise fire and police improves response times and saves money

The City of Boise is saving money, one emergency vehicle at a time.

They have partnered with a local company that is leading the charge in the ever-changing world of technology.

Cradlepoint started out with three founders and has grown to employ over 350 people in the valley. Leaders of the technology company hosted a webinar this week with policing staff from all over the world tuning in.

The technology Boise police are now using is starting to catch on.

Driven by the need to have multiple electronic devices securely connected to the Internet at all times, Boise Police Department officials and Cradlepoint technicians came up with a law enforcement-specific solution.

"The two agencies together, Cradlepoint and Boise police, really created a new product that fits in a police environment," says BPD Deputy Chief Eugene Smith.
