Setting up and running a private 5G solution can become quite complex for enterprises and service partners alike, but a cloud-based management portal can make the process a lot easier. That’s where theNetwork Management Portal (NMP) comes in: an enterprise-friendly cloud-based management system used to configure and manage the Ericsson Private 5G solution.
Each private network is created as a site within a virtual organization, or customer, in NMP — to be fully installed, activated, and managed.
Know your role in NMP
Granular role-based access control makes it easy to give those involved in the private network the precise permissions necessary to carry out their most important duties.
User roles include:
- IT or OT admins across sites, security, and devices
- View only
- Organization account manager
- Network installer
- Support Tier 1-Tier 3
- Far-reaching management with deep insights
NMP’s straightforward user experience helps organizations and their partners have deep network visibility and control with minimal complexity. Examples include:
- Single-pane-of-glass visibility into all sites that use Ericsson Private 5G
- Management of all provisioned devices, ranging from routers, or user equipment, to digital tools with SIMs directly inserted
- Configuration of all network software and hardware, including controllers, basebands, indoor radio units, and radios
- Use management and manipulation of role-based access rights
- Management of network segments to separate device traffic and manage up-and down-link traffic quotas
- Dashboard visibility into analytics about uplink and downlink speeds, latency, data consumption by SIM card, and much more
- Streamlined installation with specialized support
- SIM card management
- APIs that feed raw data into customer-facing workflows through syslog platforms, identify management systems, and Active Directory
Enterprises also can add a license for a local management portal, which allows them to continue managing certain aspects of the network locally, even amid WAN outages.
Optional Advanced Management delivers deeper functionality
Ericsson Private 5G Advanced Management is an optional feature package, available through an add-on subscription.
