Cookies We Set

A cookie is a piece of data contained in a very small text file that is stored in your browser or elsewhere on your hard drive. Cookies allow Cradlepoint to identify your device as you navigate our websites or your account.

We use both session and persistent cookies. Session cookies are cookies that disappear from your computer or browser when you turn off your computer. Persistent cookies stay on your computer even after you’ve turned it off.

We also may include tracking pixels, which are small graphic images, in our marketing communications to determine engagement. These pixels may be set by us or by third parties with whom we have partnered to assist in our marketing efforts.

The cookies we set on our website fall into five categories:

  1. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.
  2. Functional Cookies
These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.
  3. Performance Cookies
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our site, and will not be able to monitor its performance.
  4. Social Media Cookies
These cookies are set by a range of social media services that we have added to the site to enable you to share our content with your friends and networks. They are capable of tracking your browser across other sites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit. If you do not allow these cookies you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools.
  5. Targeting Cookies
These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information, but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

You may view a list of all of our cookies at the end of this notice.

How to Control and Delete Cookies

You have choices about the cookies that are set when you visit our website including:

  • On your first visit to our website: When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner will pop up and ask you to select your cookie preferences. There you can “accept all cookies”, “reject all cookies” or select the cookies you want by clicking “manage cookies”.
  • Change your preferences later: If you decide to change your preferences at a later date, you can easily do so by clicking on the hovering “Cookie Symbol”. If decide to opt-out of Functional Cookies, certain functionality of our websites or your account may be impacted.

Do Not Track. Some browsers allow a “do not track” (DNT) setting that requests that a web application disable its tracking of an individual user. When you choose to turn on the DNT setting in your browser, your browser will send a special signal to websites, analytics companies, ad networks, plug-in providers, and other web services you encounter while browsing and stop tracking your activity. To set up DNT, you can visit the All About DNT page. If choose to set up DNT, we will automatically turn off all non-required cookies on Cradlepoint ’s websites for you. Please note that this may impact the functionality of our websites or your account.

Global Privacy Control. Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a technical specification that you can use to inform websites of your privacy preferences in regard to ad trackers. To set up GPC, you can visit the Global Privacy Control page. If you do choose to set up GPC, we will automatically turn off all non-required cookies on Cradlepoint ’s websites for you. Please note that this may impact the functionality of our websites or your account. To find out whether a specific website honors GPC, you can type its web address into a search tool at gpcsup.com.

Google Analytics Opt-out. To opt out of tracking analytics and advertising placed by Google, you can also opt out by adding this extension to your browser.

Opting out of Advertising Cookies. To learn more about how to opt out of targeting and advertising cookies, you can go to the Your Online Choices page, the Network Advertising Initiative page, and the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Consumer Choice page. These opt-out tools are provided by third parties, not Cradlepoint. We do not control or operate these tools or the choices that advertisers and others provide through these tools.
