Smart Cities

Creating Operational Efficiencies for Public Sector IT

Cities across the globe are adopting Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and big data to save taxpayer money, respond quickly to challenges and emergencies, and improve quality of life. An IoT network comprises hundreds or even thousands of connected devices like utility sensors, GPS systems, parking meters, IP cameras, drones, and more. Further, many cities’ employees do their best work beyond the walls of City Hall, but they need easy access to files and applications at their city’s data center.

Given all of this, legacy network solutions simply aren’t up to the task of connecting, securing, and managing a Smart City.
